OMAG is excited to announce LELA Class 7! The Law Enforcement Liability Avoidance (LELA) Training Series provides intensive liability training for law enforcement supervisors. Class 7 will meet one day a month in January, February, March, and April 2027, covering Fourth Amendment issues involving traffic stops, uses of force, searches, entries, arrests, and post-incident reviews. Instruction combines classroom teaching and roundtable discussions built on case law, video footage, and materials from real-life incidents. Participants who successfully complete Class 7 will earn 26 hours of CLEET credit*.

As a trusted partner to municipalities across the state, OMAG is committed to training that supports safer communities and sound risk management. Each Session encourages collaboration, discussion, and practical application of the legal concepts officers encounter today. Class size is limited, and attendance is by application only.

What does it cost?

The fee is $150.00, waived for current OMAG members.

What’s expected of participants?

Attend all four Sessions in person, participate actively, and complete each pre-session assignment and post-session survey. A kick-off conference call may also be required before the first Session.

What do participants receive?

26 hours of CLEET credit, written materials, breakfast and lunch at each Session, and in-depth instruction from experienced, highly qualified instructors. Graduates receive a LELA Challenge Coin and join the LELA Alumni network.

How are participants selected?

Selection is based on the information provided in each application, and incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicants will be notified by email of their selection or waitlist status approximately 30 days after the application deadline.
