1. "Mitigate the Damages"
Take immediate action to prevent further damage to your property.
2. "Remove Flood Waters"
If your property is affected by flooding, remove any flood waters as quickly as possible.
3. "Contact a Restoration Company"
If needed, contact a restoration company to assist with the damage.
4. "Save Receipts"
Keep any receipts related to the mitigation and restoration efforts. These will be reimbursed if the damages are a result of a covered cause of loss. A covered loss includes damage caused by wind, hail, fire, and flood (OMAG excludes any flooding of pipes located in zones A, V, X, or anything unmarked).
5. "Take Pictures"
Document the damage with photographs.
6. "Try NOT to Power"
Do not attempt to restore power to any area affected by anything mitigation/restoration efforts. Water and electricity don't mix.
