By law, OMAG cannot accept liability claims directly from private citizens or third parties. All claims must be submitted through the Municipal Clerk of the municipality involved.

📄Tort Claim Liability

For 3rd Party liability claims due to an auto accident or general tort situations. OMAG has updated the standard Notice of Tort Claim form with 2 pages for the claimant plus a 3rd page for municipal staff completion.

Process: Submit claims with any additional documents or photos to OMAG as soon as possible after receiving the claim.

For data breaches, cyber attacks, ransomware incidents, or other security breaches involving personal or confidential information. Time is critical - report immediately.

1. "Mitigate the Damages"

Take immediate action to prevent further damage to your property.

2. "Remove Flood Waters"

If your property is affected by flooding, remove any flood waters as quickly as possible.

3. "Contact a Restoration Company"

If needed, contact a restoration company to assist with the damage.

4. "Save Receipts"

Keep any receipts related to the mitigation and restoration efforts. These will be reimbursed if the damages are a result of a covered cause of loss. A covered loss includes damage caused by wind, hail, fire, and flood (OMAG excludes any flooding of pipes located in zones A, V, X, or anything unmarked).

5. "Take Pictures"

Document the damage with photographs.

6. "Try NOT to Power"

Do not attempt to restore power to any area affected by anything mitigation/restoration efforts. Water and electricity don't mix.

Disclaimer: Reimbursement for mitigation and restoration expenses is only available when the damage results from a covered cause of loss, and the affected property is scheduled and premium has been charged. To be eligible for reimbursement, please ensure your property is accurately listed and current as your property schedule.
