OMAG is excited to announce the dates for Class 5 of the OMAG Law Enforcement Liability Avoidance (LELA) Training Series. This is an intensive, CLEET-accredited* program focused on law enforcement liability. Designed for select law enforcement personnel across Oklahoma, this class provides in-depth instruction on both common and emerging legal challenges facing officers today.

Beginning January 14, 2026, Class 5 will consist of three sessions that focus on Fourth Amendment topics, including traffic stops, use of force, arrests, searches, entries, and post-incident reviews. Each session features traditional classroom training supported by real-world materials such as case law and body camera footage to deliver practical, scenario-based learning.

Applications will open October 1, 2025.

Where will each session be held?

Each Session will be held at OMAG which is located at 3650 S. Boulevard, Edmond, OK 73013.

What does Class 5 cost your municipality?

The fee for Class 5 is $150.00, but this fee is waived for current, OMAG members.

Who should apply?

Class 5 is designed for supervisory law enforcement personnel across Oklahoma.

What is expected of you, if you are selected to attend?

You are expected to participate in a Class 5 Kick-off Conference call (if one is held), attend all Sessions in person, actively participate in each Session, complete each pre-Session assignment, and complete each post-Session survey.

What do you receive at each session?

You receive approximately 20 hours of CLEET credit, written materials, breakfast and lunch at each Session, and in-depth training, from experienced and highly qualified instructors. Upon completion of Class 5, you receive a LELA Challenge Coin and you become a member of the LELA Alumni Class.

How do you become a participant of the OMAG LELA Training Series Class 5?

All participants are selected based on the information provided in his/her application.   Incomplete applications will not be considered.   Each applicant will be notified by email if he/she has been selected to be a participant in Class 5 or has been placed on the wait list for Class 5, approximately 30 days after the application deadline has closed.
